About me

I am a PhD student at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Advised by Prof. Jona Ballé, I work on topics spanning representation learning and visual perception.

I was previously a MASc student at the University of Toronto and the Vector Institute for AI. During this time, I’ve worked at the intersection of AI and Information Theory, focusing on perception-aware learned video compression and LLM steganography.

I hold a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. As an undergraduate research assistant, I worked on research projects ranging from neural compression to computer vision and integrated circuit design.

I’m originally from Porto Alegre, the capital of Brazil’s southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul.
